Abstract
There has been an explosive increase in the number of mobile users which causes the multi-user interference problem. In addition, the realization of wireless communication inevitably requires high speed and quality information exchange. Antenna arrays at base-stations can be used to transmit and receive the information spatially selectively by reducing the interference effects. A new model of locally scattered signals in the vicinity of mobiles is proposed, and under this model the weights of the beamformer are obtained. Computer simulation demonstrates that the proposed scheme is excellent in performance and works well even in the urban environment where there is multipath propagation with a wide angular spread. The sensitivity of the direction and scattering effects are also obtained by simulation
