Abstract :
The problem of having to deliver power through multiple supply voltages to various subsystems on a computing platform at increased cost and space will be outlined. A novel three-switch dual output synchronous buck voltage regulator (VR) was proposed as a solution to alleviate the problem. Simulation and experimental results verifying the steady state operation of the converter were illustrated. Transient response results of the novel converter were presented. Design considerations for an optimal converter implementation were outlined and advantages of the proposed converter in comparison to conventional solutions were discussed.
