Abstract :
Securing service and signalization is an important aspect in the IMS network (IP Multimedia Subsystem). The signaling is based mainly on SIP protocol (Session Initialization Protocol). This protocol presents several challenges in terms of security which induce security problems in IMS network. The paper presents an analysis of SIP protocol and identifies the critical security weaknesses during registration phase. Indeed, during this phase, sensitive information is clearly exchanged by SIP entities which presents big risk because this information can be used in SIP security attack. So, the paper proposes an approach to improve SIP security by securing client registration in the SIP server.
