A Web tool for asynchronous, collaborative development of electronic meeting agendas

World Wide Web (Web) tools for management of documents during formal, synchronous electronic meetings are lacking greatly at present. Such a tool provides tremendous potential for applying Web mechanisms, such as dynamic page creation, and user interfaces to document processes in meetings. Such a tool in this research is referred to as a Web Electronic Meeting Document Manager (WEMDM). The paper presents a WEMDM, Logan, discussing its meeting agenda support function. Logan provides a Web based automated process for asynchronous, collaborative development of a textual meeting agenda. The process includes high meeting participant involvement through participant contributions to the agenda. Construction of the final agenda is automated via secretarius moderation. Moderation supports filtration of contributions through a contribution rejection mechanism. Participants view rejected contributions, assisting them in contribution formulation
