Abstract
As business organizations are struggling to compete in global market, they focus on the efficient sharing numerous information on design, development, production, distribution, procurement of final output, and the throughout their whole life cycles in the network-driven collaborative enterprise environment. To meet the organization´s demands, collaborative engineering system has been recently focused as a dominant philosophy and companies are compelled to adopt the paradigm to sustain a competitive edge in the business market. This work proposes a collaborative engineering system over the Internet in which decisions on product design, process design and manufacturing system design are simultaneously made at an initial phase of product development period over the Internet. The system is likely to help improve the engineering product development capability and quality.
