Abstract :
Improvements to a previously published nystagmus analyzing algorithm (see C. Wall and F.L. Black, IEEE Trans. Biomed. Eng., vol.BME28, no.9, p.638-45, 1981) are described. The removal of errors in detecting and eliminating spikes due to blinks or to voluntary eye movements is discussed. The technique used to improve the program involves the smooth differentiation of the position of the slow component of nystagmus to detect errors which are larger than a given threshold
