Abstract
A novel technique of IF (intermediate-frequency) equalization is reported. No equalization loop is necessary: the equalizer has been designed to work with only one measure of the received signal. The signature of the system is provided for 16 QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) and 64 QAM for 140 Mb/s, and the use of a MID (minimum dispersion) combiner is recommended. Simulation results demonstrate that IF equalization can work well without the aid of baseband equalization systems when using a MID combiner
