Abstract :
The coal mine laneway is a kind of limited and changeable space with bend and embranchment in a longitudinal way. Its complicate environmental condition influences the connectivity, coverage, the packet loss rate and energy consumption of the wireless sensor networks. To construct the real system of wireless sensor networks for mine working environment, this paper proposes a clustering-based chain-type topology of wireless sensor networks for underground mine (CBCT), which is better than clustering-based Line-type topology based on correlative indexes above. Based on CBCT, we propose the optimized clustering-based chain-type topology wireless underground sensor networks (op-CBCT), which forms clusters in a reasonable way according to weighted value of connection quality and the residual energy of cluster head nodes. The simulation results indicate that the optimized clustering-based chain-type topology wireless underground sensor networks is suitable for the transmission of underground mine, as well as guarantees the connectivity of the networks and prolongs the lifecycle of the networks.
