Abstract :
It is often required to integrate Internet-based data sources together in an ad-hoc way. Since such data sources are commonly heterogeneous and autonomous, they cannot come along uniformly. The paper proposes a novel data model and rational operations thereof to enable users to define local views of resources to be integrated and to eliminate syntactic and semantic heterogeneities. The local views can be shared by others within the same administrative domain. Users can define, destroy, reuse, access and manage different types of information resource as well as their instances with the structure. The model provides scalability, reusability and customizability for information resource management.
