Abstract :
Spread spectrum modulation has become very popular due to the FCC allocations in three ISM bands, e.g. 902-928 MHz. The paper describes a single ASIC which digitally implements the down conversion, matched filter, DPSK detection, and AFC functions of a demodulator as well as the differential encoding, PN spreading, and PSK modulation functions of a transmitter. This ASIC performs virtually all the functions required by a direct sequence spread spectrum modem
