Abstract :
High reliability of Auto Voltage Regulator (AVR) is Required for large capacity generator. This paper introduces kinds of regulator with different redundant configuration, and presents the risk of AVR fully fault down if there is short circuit in one of the rectifier bridges. After calculating the Short-circuit current as well as analyzing the characteristic of bridge and fast fuse, the fault possibility of AVRs with different configuration are presented in this paper.
