Abstract :
A fully integrated baseband processor suitable for wireless personal communications is presented. The universal architecture of the integrated circuit is demonstrated by using it to create baseband modulation signals that are Gaussian and Nyquist filtered. These baseband drive signals are created to meet present worldwide standards in cellular and cordless telephony including Digital European Cordless Telecommunications (DECT), American and Japanese Digital Cellular (ADC/JDC), Japanese Personal Handy Phone (PHP), and Groupe Speciale Mobile (GSM) cellular telephony in Europe. The all digital symbol timing recovery (STR) circuit is also presented. baseband bit error rates (BER) are shown to verify the circuit´s performance
