            Abstract :
A 2.5-GHz bipolar image-reject front-end that consists of an image-reject mixer, LNA (low-noise amplifier), bias, and power-down stages is described. All the required elements, including the mixer-phase shifts, are included on-chip. This front-end increases the system integration and decreases the size and complexity of wireless communications systems by eliminating the image filter. The front end is fabricated with a 15-GHz f/sub T/ BiCMOS process. The circuit was measured at DECT frequencies both in and out of its package. The conversion gain versus frequency is shown.<>
