Abstract :
The field of petroleum reservoir engineering provides interesting challenges for model-based control and optimization. The development of operational strategies for optimizing petroleum production over the life time of a reservoir requires the maximum use of modelling, data-analysis and assimilation, and multi time-scale optimization of nonlinear large-scale systems on the basis of uncertain information.
