Abstract
The success of the development and deployment of the management system can be attributed to a combination of factors: 1. A desire to change and the need of the business to implement a more robust system 2. A well-defined, and managed partnership between 3 entities that each had special skills and knowledge to apply to the development and deployment of the system. 3. The focus on short-term results and deliverables, in order to enable the longer term system provided both relief to the Platform program managers but also provided an initial structure for a new program. 4. A method for learning and obtaining feedback, allowed the system to be improved for application on the next program. 5. By measuring and obtaining tangible results, the team was able to demonstrate the effectiveness of the system to management: a) Enabled key chipset customers to introduce in the spring vs. fall cycle, reducing Intel and Intel´s customers´ Time to Market; b) Enabled pull-in of the 2.53 GHz Pentiumreg 4 processor with 533 MHz Front-side bus, establishing Intel as the platform technology and performance leader.
