Abstract :
Circular secondary clarifier widely used in wastewater treatment requires optimization to improve wastewater treatment efficiency. The flow dynamics is an important parameter for the design of reactors. The solid-liquid two-phase turbulent flow in the clarifier is modeled with the two-phase mixture model. The PISO algorithm is used to decouple velocity and pressure. Comparison between the measured and computed data shows that the model can fully simulate flows in a circular secondary clarifier. These research results provide useful information for the design of secondary sedimentation tanks.
