Abstract :
Traditional wavelet denoising methods eliminate too many wavelet coefficients without considering the local characteristics. An adaptive wavelet denoising method based on neighboring coefficients is designed in this paper. An improved threshold function and a new adaptive threshold are introduced, where the local characteristics and the distribution of the noise in different decomposition levels are both taken into account. The proposed method is more adaptive and can keep more features of the true signal. And it is easy to be implemented. The simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms the traditional methods given in the paper.
