Abstract
An estimation procedure is presented for dealing with beat-by-beat changes in the QRS complex. QRS is modeled by the first orthonormal Hermite functions. The Hermite coefficients and the width of the Gaussian function are adaptively estimated by the least mean square (LMS) algorithm. The adaptation is initiated by an impulse coincident in time with the QRS occurrence. Adaptation expressions and examples of performance are presented
