Abstract :
Timely and accurate power system disturbance identification plays an essential role in the security and stability of power system. This paper reviews the status and problems of power disturbance recognition, points out the necessity to identify disturbance in the smart grid, and divides the disturbance research into three areas that include disturbance characteristic index determination, index extraction method, disturbance source and its location identification. The problems that should be solved in comprehensive disturbance recognition have been raised and the advantages of disturbance identification based on digital substation have been prospected.
