Abstract
This article sets out the concept of three strategies which, based on the idea of voltage transient response signal energy and that of parallel running of several processors, enable a transit limit to be obtained with a margin of error of 1% in the time taken to perform one or two simulations in transient stability. The effectiveness of these strategies is demonstrated from the results of tests on the Hydro-Quebec 1991 network
