Abstract
In this paper, we propose a hybrid and cooperative browser-level web caching system based on chord. Each node in this system contacts with each other for web cache sharing. As a result, when a miss occurs in local web cache and web cache server, the request would be sent to a remote node in the chord or its web cache server. So workload of server would decrease and hit ratio would increase through resource sharing between browser ´s web caches. Taking both local web cache and web cache server into account, we improve the resource searching algorithm to be distributed and hybrid. Finally, we examine and evaluate the permanence of the system in simulation environment. And results show system can achieve a better hit ratio.
