Abstract :
In this paper, the identification of a wind-energy conversion system (WECS) is presented. At the beginning, the theoretical models of the WECS are introduced in two different situations. Next, with linearization around the operation point and some additional assumptions, a state equation is built up. Then, the parameters in the experimental models are estimated on the sampled data of the single input and single output. The identification algorithm used is the prediction error method (PEM). Further, the structure selections of the experimental models are made among ARMAX, Box-Jenkins and general linear model classes respectively with minimization of the performance index. Besides, a MIMO identification technique is also adopted on the state equation. The advantage of this model is that the parameters have exact physical meaning. In the end, all the models mentioned are compared and both the advantages and disadvantages are analyzed in detail
