Abstract :
An S-matrix representation of longitudinal discontinuities is used to investigate the mode spectrum of waveguides. The numerical advantages and disadvantages of the method are described. As an example, field plots for the first modes of a T-septum guide are shown. Monomode bandwidth characteristics for a simple T-septum guide are presented.<>
