Abstract :
A new approach, the multipole theory(MT) method, is presented for determining the resonant frequencies of TE0 and TM0 modes in rotationally loaded cavities. The inhomogeneous field domain of loaded cavity is decomposed as a combination of several simple homogeneous regions, and the solution of the governing partial differential equation is represented by the generalized MT formula. Representative computational examples, including spherical cavity loaded with an eccentric dielectric sphere, cylindrical cavity and rectangular cavity loaded with dielectric rods, are given to validate the theory and to demonstrate the degree of its efficiency.
