Abstract :
A transient analysis of an antenna, generally, can be made in two ways. The first one is based on analysis in frequency domain, and the second one is based on time domain analysis. The analysis of an antenna with two parallel identical elements, in this paper, is based on time-domain analysis. The antenna is fed with an ideal voltage generator. A method for determination of the current distribution along the elements is developed first. For this purpose, the potential functions values are obtained, using the method of characteristics. The current distribution is determined with the current values in previous times and computed values of the potential functions. For illustration of the exactness of the presented method, the results obtained for the input admittance of an antenna are compared with results computed with another method. The method presented for analysis of an antenna with two elements in a non-harmonious net, performs a continuation in developing the basic method for analysis of a symmetrical cylindrical antenna in a harmonious net. This gives the opportunity of the method´s use in more general cases.
