Abstract
When studying GB sensors, researchers use DMMP (dimethylmethylphosphonate) to mimics GB and then extrapolate responses to GB detection. In this paper we present experimental results concerning GB and DMMP detection, using guided SH-SAW devices (Shear Horizontal-Surface Acoustic Wave). Then we are able to compare responses and to bring to light some important discrepancies between the two gases responses, both in a static and a dynamic way. An estimation of the diffusion coefficient of each gas (GB and DMMP) allows to link the dynamic of the responses with the sorption kinetics. In a static point of view, we give some hypothesis from the chemical structures of these two compounds to explain the differences in interactions with polysiloxane polymer.
