Abstract :
The organisation and work schedule of the project are presented in relation to the European DVB project as a whole. A `strawman´ specification of the system is tabulated, with block diagrams of the transmitter and two codecs. Reconfigurable transmission based on a combination of multilevel channel coding and multiresolution QAM, and a scaleable video source coding scheme are explained
