Abstract :
At present, the diagnosis of brain oedema and brain hemorrhage is usually given according to the examination by CT or MRI. Although these methods can reflect the conditions of patient accurately, they are not proper for warding due to their inconvenience and high cost. Study shows there is interdependence between brain impedance and Brain hemorrhage, so that the brain impedance can be a sensitive indicator for brain hemorrhage. In this paper, the electromagnetic characteristic of brain impedance under low frequency current source and the electrical conductivity property of skull are presented. A new method of examining brain edema through brain electrical impedance topographic mapping (BEITM) is presented in this article, and BEITM is used to display brain electrical impedance with picture mode. Network topology structures used in BEITM are also reviewed. According to topology, we discuss the drawing algorithm based on a single triangle unit. Some patients have been examined and a lot of clinical data have been got, according to which Brain electrical impedance topographic was constructed by computer at last, functional imaging has been implemented. Clinical case analysis compared with CT photograph and repeatability of steady patient has proved the method is feasible.
