Abstract
The calculation of power losses and the performance of a three-phase, double-cage induction motor fed with nonsinusoidal voltage are dealt with. Both basic and stray (additional) losses are discussed. A comparison between the computation and test results for two small double-cage motors is made assuming sinusoidal, square, and PWM waveforms of the excitation voltage
