Abstract
An initial study of bistatic radar images using scattering data computed from a boundary-of-revolution method of moments algorithm is described. Bistatic image results are compared with those for a monostatic system to illuminate the differences which may arise due to distinct scattering behaviors; variations with the bistatic angle (i.e. the angle between incident and scattering directions) and with polarization are also considered. Results show that specular-like mechanisms indeed produce similar images from monostatic or bistatic data, but higher order scattering effects can appear significantly different.
