  • Abstract
We study the frequency dependence of reflection coefficient R in the case when the permittivity profile of the plasma wavetrain consists of the single-extremum regular part and multiextremum multiscale irregular one. To model the latter, a bandlimited fractal function is used. The main goal of this paper is to consider the effect of parameters of the fractal modulating function on the frequency-selective properties of the slab, from the viewpoint of revealing the range of parameters variation, in which multifractal properties and statistical ones could play significant role. The Riccati equation is used to calculate the auxiliary function related to the reflection coefficient. Our consideration is restricted to the vicinity of the penetration (maximum plasma) frequency of the regular part of the profile.
