Abstract :
The Mobile Broadband System (MBS) is a RACE II project developing a third generation digital cellular system in order to make B-ISDN services available to mobile users, facilitating applications requiring a user capacity greater than 2 Mbit/s. Eleven partners together with their associates are collaborating within RACE Project 2067 to study the various elements of MBS including MMICs, antennas, modulation schemes, architectures and user requirements. This paper concentrates on description of potential applications, user requirements and the analysis of service elements required by the various applications
