Abstract :
A wideband, widescan, dual-polarized Vivaldi antenna element is presented and shown to provide about 4.5:1 bandwidth for a scan volume of 45° and VSWR of less than 2. This performance is degraded only slightly by addition of a radome. Scan anomalies in the H-plane limit the upper operating frequency, but it is possible to reduce their impact by including plated-through vias in the design
