Abstract :
A line printer daemon (LPR) protocol and a raw transmission control protocol/Internet protocol (raw TCP/IP) are widely used as data communication protocols in office multifunctional devices. Surprisingly, the efficiency of these protocols has not been analyzed. Therefore, a comparative efficiency analysis of the LPR and raw TCP/IP printing protocols is provided in this paper.
