Abstract :
A simplified hypersonic vehicle(HSV) model, which would be applied for control design, could be obtained by decoupling the rigid-elastic modes and neglecting certain weak couplings. The credibility of simplified model of HSV should be effectively verified. By comparing the output time series of the true model and simplified model, which is usually non-stationary, a quantitative assessment method based on wavelet coherence is presented. In comparison to the traditional methods in time or frequency domain, the wavelet coherence analysis approach could quantitatively test the simplified model at each time and frequency (scale). Monte Carlo simulations are used to assess the critical value against red noise backgrounds. The simulations show the wavelet coherence analysis validation methods effectiveness.
