            Abstract : 
A DC linear stepping motor has been constructed using sections of single layer armature winding which can be energised in a sequence and a field source provided by neodymium-boron-iron magnets. The performance of this motor has been compared with that of another motor similar in configuration, but with triple layer armature coils. The air-gap between the armature core and the field had to be increased in the case of the second motor
