Abstract
The FDTD method has become increasingly popular and is being used to model extremely complex and electrically large structures. In early works, we presented a FDTD non-uniform mesh technique (NUM-FDTD) that allows for increased resolution in regions of interest without increasing the overall computational requirements beyond the available resources. In this paper, we extend the method so that more than two kinds of mesh sizes can be used in the computation region. Using the proposed method, we calculated a top loaded low profile monopole antenna which has a quite small matching structure compared to the wavelength. By comparing the simulation and measurement result, we examine the effect of proposed method in a small antenna´s simulation
