Abstract :
In this paper, outline of the derivation of finite difference beam propagation method based on the exponential operator method with split-step Pade approximation is given to simulate the field propagation of dielectric planar circuits. In order to investigate the accuracy and limitation for a propagation angle of the method proposed here, numerical results are presented for benchmark tests. The present algorithms can be readily implemented on a personal computer to produce the field distributions of dielectric planar circuits
