Abstract :
In order to improve the ecological system in Heihe River Basin, a Water-distribution Project has started in 2000. This paper focus on comparative analysis of the ecological environment factors before and after the project in Heihe River Basin. The results showed that: (1) compared with 1900s, the average entry water was increased by 0.9×108m3 in Langxin Mountain. (2) ground water level raised by 1.04m at both sides of Heihe River. (3) the oasis area increased by 40.16km2, while the areas of gobi, desert, saline-alkali soil reduced. (4) the area of lakes and ponds increased in the upper reaches especially the east Juyan Lake. These results demonstrate that after the water-distribution project the ecological environment has been improved and the deterioration of the ecological environment has been curbed step by step.
