Abstract :
IEEE1588 is a standard for a precision clock synchronization protocol for networked measurement and control systems. It can meet the requirement of the industrial Ethernet for high precision clock synchronization in the digital substation. Based on boundary clock defined in IEEE 1588 standard, this paper introduces an application scheme for time synchronization network in the digital substation. Then the principle of high precision clock synchronization and the PTP clock models are analyzed. At last, for the realization of the industrial Ethernet switch based on IEEE1588 standard, a design scheme based on the MPC8313E development board and the Vxworks operating system is presented. Design comprises CPU and PHYTER of the hardware and BSP, network driver and communication module of the software. Practical application shows that the use of IEEE1588 for time synchronization network has high precision and reliability.
