Abstract :
To study the effects of magnetic fields (MFs) of 50 Hz and 1.1 mT on the differentiation and intracellular free calcium of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). MSCs were isolated and cultured in vitro. The fourth-passage cells were harvested and exposed in 50 Hz sinusoidal magnetic fields (MFs) under different conditions. The cellular differentiation and the intercellular Ca2+ level were investigated at different time. MFs (50 Hz, 1.1 mT) enhanced the cellular differentiation (P < 0.05), and the intracellular free Ca2+ concentration in MSCs could be significantly raised too. Conclusion: MFs (50 Hz, 1.1 mT) changes intracellular free calcium ion concentration of MSCs, which plays a key role in the differentiation of MSCs.
