Abstract :
In this paper, we have proposed to use a filter bank-based preconditioner for the iterative solution of the Poisson´s equation in semiconductor device simulations. The used preconditioning scheme has better performance than conventional wavelet-based preconditioners. Moreover, the computational costs of the considered method are lower than other methods. It is because the scheme uses a very short filter bank and a good approximation of the transformed matrix with low computational cost to find its approximate inverse.
