Abstract :
A virtual central database based smart comprehensive power system dynamic monitoring platform is proposed. Different monitoring and analysis systems or data sources can exchange data through virtual central database, while actually the virtual central database don´t store the data of these different systems, as a stead, only path or mapping information is stored. This will avoid the copy process and repeat storage of data information. In order to storage, access and manage the huge amount of WAMS data with high sampling rate in real-time, the system preprocesses the WAMS data according to the characteristic of the measurement data in power system, then the data is compressed by lossless compress algorithm. Many applications for power system dynamic monitoring and analysis have been realized in this comprehensive platform, that includes low frequency oscillation monitoring, voltage stability monitoring, parameter identifications, and operation performance assessment for generators.
