Abstract :
Equalization for uplink MIMO SC-FDMA LTE multi-stream transmission is considered utilizing modulation-aware iterative matrix inversion method. This equalizer jointly removes inter-symbol (ISI) as well as inter-stream interference. It is observed that gains over traditional frequency-domain equalization can be obtained. Additionally, receiver performance for unequal power assignments between the data streams improves as compared to equal power allocation, which is opposite to the case of linear MMSE equalization. It is shown that signal co-existence is possible with this methodology, which considerably improves the system´s spectral efficiency.
