Abstract :
Several properties of nonlinear equations generated from electronic networks can lead to nonconvergent iteration processes. The most severe problems are generated where the circuit has feedback loops. Other problems may arise because of bad numerical condition of the Jacobian used in the Newton-Raphson process. This paper deals in general with the solution of the nonlinear equations. The major message is that the DC part of an electronic simulation program should have several methods built-in which will be invoked if a previous method fails to converge
