Abstract :
The planar motors have received more and more attention in complex automation system. In this paper, a permanent magnet array is proposed and the magnetic field distribution is obtained analytically by using magnetic scalar potential. The characteristics of the synchronous permanent magnet planar motor with the magnet array such as force, back-EMF and inductance also are calculated by analytical method. By the comparison of the characteristics, the proposed magnet array is superior to Asakawa and Chitayat magnet arrays. And the simulation values are verified by the experiments. Otherwise, the genetic algorithm is used to optimize the force.
