Abstract
Theft of computers and other expensive equipment is a major problem in industry and commerce, as is locating equipment which has been borrowed and not returned. This paper describes the development of a radio-based `tagging´ system which makes it possible to track down test equipment and computers wherever they might be in a building. Results are presented of trials of the system within the Teaching Laboratories in the School of Electronic Engineering, Information Technology and Mathematics at the University of Surrey
