Abstract
The ultrasonic measurement technology is widely used in the detection of impact points. However, most of the existing researches apply only to this case where the flying trajectory must be vertical to the target screen. Otherwise there exists large measurement error. In this paper, a mathematical model for projectiles shooting in any direction based on sensors distributed stereoscopically is put forward. It is based on the characteristics of shock wave around a supersonic projectile and acoustical localization. The mathematical model considers both the horizontal tilt angle and the pitch angle. Experiments show that this model improves the measurement accuracy.
