Abstract :
This paper presents thermooptic switch based on multimode interference Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The design of Mach-Zehnder interferometer is verified by using beam propagation method. The switch has 0.99 dB of insertion loss, 38.15 dB of crosstalk and 0.02 dB of polarization dependent loss at cross state; 0.99 dB of insertion loss, 29.92 dB of crosstalk and 0.01 dB of polarization dependent loss at bar state. The extinction ratio of the switch is 38.15 dB on path 1 and 29.92 dB on path 2.
