Abstract :
Electromyogram (EMG) linear envelope (LE) patterns of anterior cruciate ligament injured subjects are studied. Six muscles around the knee joints, the rectus femoris (RF), vastus lateral (VL), vastus medialis (VM), semitendinosus (ST), biceps femoris (BF), and medial gastrocnemius (GS), are analyzed. The results of a clustering analysis show that some clusters of patterns are mainly composed of ACL-injured subjects and contain somewhat different patterns from those of normal subjects: the ST bursts later than usual, the BF activates earlier, and the minor activity peak around toe-off of the quadriceps (RF, VL, VM) disappears
